STEPHANIE SWENGEL, Producer / Director

Committed to experiencing and expanding our connection with the world, ORGANIC is a subject that as a filmmaker and consumer has interested her since 1993 when she was an organic farm manager in rural Massachusetts. Stephanie has produced two organic cooking show pilots, GOING WILD IN THE KITCHEN and EASY ORGANIC COOKING.

Last year she was invited to the DoubleTake Summer Documentary Institute where master facility such as Ken Burns, Frederick Wiseman, Ira Glass, Mary Ellen Mark, Robert Coles and more shared their experiences on storytelling. SOLAR POWER! was a short film Stephanie produced, shot and edited in reaction to the California power crisis which made its festival debut there.

On the side, she has produced a 16mm documentary on the legendary film composer, Alfred Newman, a digital series of PSAs on recycling, created and pitched Hollywood a reality pilot, ARTIST IN THE MAKE, and co-produced a series of segments, PASSIONATE LIVING with MetaFilmics for the Wisdom Network.

In addition, she was a Marketing Director for the L.A. Weekly, Promotions Director for concert promoter, Avalon Attractions plus worked for numerous radio stations over the years as a general manager, on-air talent, promotions director and sales executive.

By day, Stephanie serves as Director of Production with Lori Forte Productions at 20th Century Fox Animation. Most recently, she managed the Los Angeles production office for ICE AGE, a CGI film with Blue Sky Studios.
