NIC HARCOURT, Music Consultant
Music industry taste-maker NIC HARCOURT, hosts Morning Becomes Eclectic
which is the signature music show of Southern California's flagship
public radio station KCRW in Santa Monica 89.9 FM. Morning Becomes
Eclectic is a three hour daily music program from 9am to Noon (PST),
Monday-Friday and simulcast worldwide on www.kcrw.com.
Since arriving at KCRW in the spring on 1998, Harcourt has helped propel
KCRW to the #1 rated public radio station in Los Angeles. KCRW's
commitment to support new and emerging artists, without regard to record
deals or promotional funding, has established the station's credibility
in the music world.
The Wall Street Journal calls Morning Becomes Eclectic "one of the
most interesting and influential radio shows in the U.S." (April 2002)
Several times a week, Harcourt hosts unsigned artists and
internationally acclaimed bands live in-studio on Morning Becomes
Eclectic. Exposure on KCRW has helped launch the careers of such artists
as Norah Jones, Sigur Ros, Starsailor, Dido, Coldplay, Pete Yorn and
David Gray. Dido, Norah Jones, and Coldplay all received their first
U.S. radio airplay on Morning Becomes Eclectic.
In late 2000, KCRW launched a new national program with Public Radio
International called Sounds Eclectic. As a two-hour, best-of Morning
Becomes Eclectic, Harcourt hosts the program which airs across the
country and on the web at www.soundseclectic.com. Each show features a
live recorded session and interview with an established or emerging
artist. Sounds Eclectic Too, the album (PalmPictures), was released end
of September 2002 with tracks from acclaimed artists: Chris Martin of
Coldplay, Zero 7, AIR, R.E.M., Julieta Venegas, Tom McRae, Starsailor,
Shelby Lynne, Nick Cave, Dido, Cousteau and Norah Jones.

the Year by Gavin Magazine in 2000 and 2001, the highly-respected San
Francisco-based national radio and music trade magazine.
