LESLIE CERIER, Co-Producer / Writer
Leslie Cerier is a gourmet organic caterer, cooking teacher, and author of The Quick and Easy Organic Gourmet (Barrytown Ltd, 1996), co-author of Sea Vegetable Celebration (The Book Publishing Company, 2001), editor to the Taste Life, The Organic Recipe Book (Enchantment Books, Fall 2002) and author of the forthcoming organic cookbook, Going Wild in the Kitchen (Square One Publishing, Fall 2003.)
She has also contributed the chapter, "The Culinary Pleasures of Organic Foods" to Taste Life! The Organic Choice (Vital Health, 1998), and recipes to Dr. Gene Spiller's book: Nutrition Secrets of the Ancients (Prima, 1996). In addition, Ms. Cerier has written 70 articles on natural living, nutrition and cooking, which have appeared in Bottom Line/Personal, Natural Health, GreatLife, Better Nutrition, Fitlinxx.com and local newspapers. In 1990, she developed recipes for the Teff Company (growers and distributors of teff), which they published in a recipe pamphlet still in use today.
Ms. Cerier's expertise in organic cooking lead to developing and hosting two television pilots, "Going Wild in the Kitchen" and "Easy Organic Cooking." She's appeared on the the Television Food Network explaining low fat cooking, wheat-free baking, phytoestrogen rich foods and organic farming.
Leslie lectures and teaches cooking in Western Massachusetts, New York, Baltimore (Expo East) and as far away as Iowa for Frontier Natural Products Co-op's Herb Fest. She is an expert in nutrition with a Masters in Physical Education (Teachers College, Columbia University) and has taught at Barnard College, Columbia University and Eastern Kentucky University.
